The Museum was created in 1960 in one of the Butte's oldest buildings, constructed in the 17th century: the Maison du Bel Air. Surrounded by gardens, it was the creative home of artists such as Auguste Renoir, Émile Bernard, Raoul Dufy, Charles Camoin, Suzanne Valadon and Maurice Utrillo.
Jacques Prévert, rêveur d'images exhibition, from October 18, 2024 to February 16, 2025.
While 2024 celebrates the centenary of Surrealism, it's also the 70th anniversary of Jacques Prévert's move to Cité Véron (above the Moulin Rouge) in the 18th arrondissement of Paris in 1955. Jacques Prévert was a multi-faceted artist who devoted a significant part of his life to the visual arts.
